Taido

Taido is a Japanese martial art created in 1965 by Seiken Shukumine. Taido is a fun way of training for those who want to increase their suppleness through movement.

In Taido you work in a 9x9 area, including in the air above the opponent and below them. Taido is called a 3 dimensional martial art and includes kicks and punches and sweeping movements on the ground, in the air or frrom a standing position.

Apart from fighting, a Taido training session also includes mental focusing, greetings ceremonies, gymnasic warmups, training in technique and form, creative exercises, strength and relaxation exercises plus stretching.

For most people who practise Taido it is a way of increasing their well-being. You will be able to increase your level of fitness, strength, bodily control and most of all your suppleness - in a fun way.

Check out the Swedish Taido Association's website for more information on www.taido.nu.
